Visitors, and beginner, novice and experienced growers are all welcome.

The Cape and Islands Orchid Society (CAIOS) is a hobby group for orchid lovers on Cape Cod and the Islands.

Visitors, and beginner, novice and experienced growers are all welcome. We are social and chatty, sharing food, our successes & our failures.

Members bring in blooming orchids for our Show Table every month so you get to see dozens of blooming orchids each month, we have a small raffle and you can win orchids to experiment with, and many of our speakers bring plants to sell so you have an opportunity to purchase high quality orchids you will never see in a big-box store.

There are many benefits to joining the Cape and Islands Orchid Society:

Orchid professionals and experienced growers speak to our group on topics such as:

  • How breeders create those magnificent hybrid orchids
  • Orchids that will grow well under your specific conditions
  • How to tailor your growing conditions to successfully culture your favorite orchid variety
  • The latest in hybridization trends in Phals, Paphs, Catts, etc.
  • and much more – this is just a sampling!

  • Dues are $25 per year for an individual membership.
  • Family membership are available at $35 per year.
  • The membership year begins in January.

We meet once a month, usually on the second Sunday of the month at 12:30 pm, May and October we meet on the third Sunday (to avoid holidays) and we take July and August off.
