The Genus Dendrobium: overview of the genus with suggestions for successful culture. Chuck Anderson, Mason Hollow Nursery
Chuck has grown Orchids since the age of 14. He lives in New Hampshire and retired early, just prior to COVID, to help his wife in her business (Mason Hollow Nursery) … and now Orchids have taken over half of the greenhouse! He specializes in intermediate to cool growing species, in particularly Pleurothallids and Dendrobiums. In this month’s talk, he takes on the genus Dendrobium, a diverse group containing more than 1,800 species that are found in varied habitats throughout much of south, east and southeast Asia, including China, Japan, India, the Philippines, Indonesia, Australia, New Guinea, Vietnam and many of the islands of the Pacific, and offers an opportunity to pick up some useful tips on understanding members of this genus and their horticultural needs.
